Latest Announcement

  • Final score is available to check online. The cutoff is 495 for A, 440 for B, 385 for C, 330 for D.
  • Grades for final are available. We have 135+ 2, 120+ 17, 105+ 6, 90+ 5, 90- 1, Max 141, Median 123.

  • The tutoring room has changed into MATH 0411. It still runs from Monday to Friday 12:30-2:30.
  • Grades for exam 3 are available. We have 90+ 3, 80+ 6, 70+ 7, 60+ 10, 60- 7, Max 97, Median 67. The score will be curved up by 3 points for everybody.
  • Exam 3 has been postponed to Wednesday (July 6).

  • Math department offers free tutoring hours 12:30-2:00 Monday through Friday every week. The room is MATH 0302.

Quiz Information

  • 7 quizzes will be given during the semester. Each quiz has 24 points. Only first 20 points counts. The lowest 2 scores will be dropped. Thus, the total weight of quizzes is 100 points. Most of the quizzes are in class. There will be NO make-up quizzes unless you ask for my permission in advance.

  • Homework assignment problems can be found here. I will not collect the homework. It is highly RECOMMENDED for you to finish these assignments. Quizzes and exams are based on these problems.

Exam Information

  • There are four exams during the semester. Each exam will be based on one chapter. They count for 100 points each. The lowest exam will be dropped. Thus, the total weight of the exams is 300 points.
  • Also, a final exam which covers all chapters will be given at the last day of the semester, which counts for 150 points.

Grading Information

  • Your grade will be based on the following 550 points:
  • 300 points » 4 exams at 100 points each, lowest one dropped
  • 100 points » 7 quizzes at 20 points each, lowest two dropped
  • 150 points » Final at 150 points
